The popularity of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) means that there are a large number of different types of drones available for purchase. But you’ll need to do more research to find the best drone for your specific needs. So for different industry applications, which drone is better? Today we will analyze multi-rotor drone and VTOL fixed-wing drone.
1. Multi-rotor drone
Multi-rotor drones are characterized by their small size and excellent control, so multi-rotor drones are an excellent choice for aerial photography. They can hover with ease and can also take off vertically, adding another level of versatility.
Quadcopters, hexacopters, and octocopters also have drawbacks, though. Adding more rotors makes the drone harder to learn and harder to control. All those moving parts also draw extra power, draining the battery faster. Most multirotor drones have a flight time of less than an hour. This makes them best for photography and videography.
2. Vertical take-off and landing fixed-wing drone
As the name suggests, this drone has the function of multi-rotor drone take-off and landing, and also has the function of high-speed cruise of fixed wings drone. It does not need a runway, and can take off and land in complex environments. It is suitable for large-area and long-distance industry needs, such as large-area surveying& mapping, surveillance, boder monitor etc.
